Many of your illustrations are based on Jewish customs and religion. Are you proud to represent your heritage as a professional artist? Explain.
I've illustrated about a dozen picture books for Jewish publishers, so they can be heavy on the Jewish themes. Others, like the My Dog mystery series are aimed at a general audience. I don't often focus on Jewish topics when I'm working on personal projects. I like them to have a more universal appeal. I am very proud of my faith and heritage. I want to do a series of paintings one day exploring Jewish biblical figures. It's been on my mind for years, but I'll need to make time for it hopefully as my kids grow older.
