What, if anything, frustrates you about artists today?
I'm not frustrated about any artist. I'm so happy to have followed this path that I'd actually encourage anyone to practice art – with or without any apparent "talent" for it. The real talent for art is the capability to get joy, pleasure and inspiration from it. I'm more concerned about the art market, which doesn't care about art at all. It cares about bankability; it cares about the last trend. It cares only about how it could take the optimal benefit from what is actually nothing more than a good investment. It thinks about art in the worst possible way. As far as I'm concerned, economic and political fields have far too much power over artistic creation nowadays. Art should remain in the hands of artists and art lovers.
