INDUSTRIAL SHADOWS: I really struggled on the best ways to present this section, but ultimately decided it was best to lump it all under one banner. Not far from where I live, there are several broken down industrial centers, warehouses that lay neglected and abandoned. They remain vacant, subject to weather and vandalization, but that is the greatest appeal in the camera eye… to capture these locations in their state of decay, to pull the most interesting subjects from the depths of each shadow. Men worked in these facilities. They labored and sweat, made careers and fed their families. Engineers designed these facilities, complex blueprints laid down on professional grade drafting paper. There were expensive contracts and business agreements, workforces engaged in the act of production. Now they lay dormant, rotting hulks of industrial memory. Ceilings are collapsing, objects rusting, a feral smell of mold and moisture. It is hard not to be fascinated. For the common person, these locations are dangerous, empty places. For the creative soul, these neglected facilities are a playground of visuals, a place where ghosts lurk in the rafters, where broken chairs fascinate the imagination. I've spent many an afternoon chasing such phantoms, and now I am proud to share these unusual captures…
