How long does a given illustration take, start to finish?
It depends on the size and what I am doing. For portraits, I usually go for an A4 (9x12-inch) or 6x8-inch for smaller practice and fun pieces. An A4 piece can take anywhere between two days to 1.5 weeks from sketch to finish. A smaller one is usually one to five days. For landscapes, I usually create them in 6x8-inch as it gives me better water control. Depending on the subject, it can be anywhere between a few hours to five days.
